Vera Sicher, Mountain Village a village road lined with fences leads past a central building into the village nestled amongst the mountains; impasto technique with broad brushstrokes, oil on plywood, second half of the 20th century, signed ‘V. Sicher”, signed on the reverse, presumably by another hand, “Vera Sicher”, titled “Vecchie case di Colfosco” and dated “1973”, slight signs of ageing, framed, inner dimensions approx. 40.5 x 50 cm. Artist information: Painter (born 1922 in Venice), exhibited in Bolzano, Rome, Florence, Milan, Venice and Merano, amongst other places; based in Merano; source: Saur’s “Bio-Bibliographical Artists’ Lexicon”, Fuchs and the internet.
