Camillo Kurtz, View of a village in the Pre-Alps view from a meadow of an old village wall, behind which stands a Baroque church tower; trees with foliage taking on a slight yellow tinge; a Pre-Alpine backdrop; a beautiful, richly coloured Impressionist view with broad brushstrokes, oil on canvas mounted on board, inscribed and dated 1928 in pencil in the bottom left-hand corner, also inscribed in pencil on the reverse of the board, minimally restored, frame showing minimal wear, inner dimensions 60 x 80 cm. Artist information: Austrian painter (1896 in St. Gallen, Upper Styria - 1973), nephew of the painter Arthur Kurtz; studied in Graz and Paris; later became known primarily for his still lifes, watercolours and ceramics.
