Hans Schleich, Norwegian Fjord rustic stone huts with boats moored on the shore, on the edge of an imposing Norwegian fjord with a slightly cloudy sky, a slightly impasto, richly detailed landscape painting, oil on canvas mounted on board, late 19th century, signed ‘H. Schleich" and an indistinct inscription (presumably Odda, Hardangerfjord), labelled on an adhesive label on the reverse "Hans Schleich - Berlin, Norway, No. 38 G.", signs of age, dark moulded frame, inner dimensions approx. 36 x 46 cm. Artist information: German landscape and marine painter (1834, Stettin - 1912, Berlin), real name Carl Johannes Schleich, pupil of Hermann Eschke and Hans Gude, source: Thieme-Becker/Vollmer.
