943 - Five Japanese woodblock prints, 19th-20th century, comprising: three with kabuki actors, 'Tanimura Torazo as Washizuka Hachiheiji', 'Ichikawa Yaozo III as the cripple Tanabe Bunzo' and 'The actors Ichikawa Tomiemon [right] as Kanisaka Toma and Sanogawa Ichimatsu III [left] as the Gion Prostitute Onayo', signed Toshusai Sharaku (active 1794-1795), colour and mica on paper, oban, and two with bijin, one of 'Mono-omoi koi (Reflective Love)' from the series 'Kasen Koi no bu (Anthology of Poems: The Love Section)', and another of a woman with a fan, signed Kitagawa Utamaro (1754-1806) (36 to 37cm high; framed and glazed) (5) Provenance: The Private Collection of Michael George Kuczynski (1941-2025), Cambridgeshire. Condition Report: Mica rubbed in places.
