Natango, “My Chicken” A young boy with blond hair against a black background, eating a chicken, looking directly at the viewer, holding an axe in his right hand, his pose reminiscent of Thomas Gainsborough’s “Blue Boy”, contemporary, socially critical painting, oil on hardboard, signed lower right, signed again and dated 2012 on the reverse, inscribed “for my friend Bodo, 20 Jan. 2016”, as well as titled and bearing the location “Pilotenküche, Leipzig”, plus an old gallery label, framed, inner dimensions 78 x 64 cm. Artist information: Natango Fietkau (born Claus Peter Fietkau), a Leipzig-based artist and former financial adviser (born 1953), is best known for his social and political themes.
