Artist’s biography: Swiss painter, graphic artist, designer and representative of the Zurich School of Concrete Art (1892, Carouge, Canton of Geneva - 1980, Wald, Zurich); grew up in Stuttgart; studied at the Royal School of Applied Arts under Bernhard Pankok; from 1915 a furniture designer in Berlin, in contact with Herwarth Walden, took painting lessons from Adolf Hölzel, a member of the Deutscher Werkbund from 1918, in 1927 designed a show flat in a block by Mies van der Rohe in the Weißenhofsiedlung in Stuttgart, fled to Zurich in 1933; in 1977, the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart appointed Graeser an honorary member; the artist’s estate is administered by the Camille Graeser Foundation; source: Wikipedia.
