Alfred Hanf, Erotica Collection 16 etchings from around 1920-30 (reprints) with erotic themes, some from the series ‘Die Brille’, unsigned, image dimensions approx. 12.5 x 10 cm, sheet dimensions approx. 29 x 21 cm. Artist information: German painter, draughtsman, printmaker and commercial artist (1890, Erfurt - 1974, Erfurt); studied at the Erfurt School of Applied Arts from 1908 to 1910; trained as a drawing teacher at the Academy in Berlin from 1910 to 1912; 1912-13: further training at the Academy in Dresden under Carl Bantzer; 1914-15: art teacher in Erfurt, followed by military service; 1918-19: teaching post at the Eberswalde School of Applied Arts; in 1919, a founding member of the ‘Jung-Erfurt’ artists’ group; from 1919, worked freelance as a painter and graphic artist; in 1924, a teaching post at the Erfurt Vocational School of Applied Arts and, from 1926, at the Erfurt School of Applied Arts, 1942-45: Lecturer at the German Crafts Masters’ School in Erfurt; from 1945: worked as a freelancer, undertook study trips to Italy, Spain, the south of France and Switzerland; worked in Erfurt; Source: Vollmer and the internet.
