KPM Berlin figurative jardinières with fruit motifs Designed by Burkhardt Apel in 1891, with underglaze blue sceptre mark, red imperial orb mark and black war mark 1914-1918, model number 3593, incised and embossed marks, oval, bulbous shape with rocaille, shell and reed reliefs, as well as two volute-like handles, these flanked by large modelled flowers and, on each side, a three-dimensional putto in the form of a boy and a girl, each with rich drapery and a sprig of flowers in their hand; on both sides of the body, a large fruit arrangement in fine polychrome overglaze painting; the flowers in both putti’s raised hands have been restored in the original style; L 38 cm.
