3261 - KPM Berlin six picture cups

KPM Berlin six picture cups underglaze blue sceptre and eagle marks 1849-1870, some with a red imperial orb mark, stamp and brush numbers, and in one instance a brush designation; each a footed bell-shaped cup with leaf relief at the base of the handle and a double band at the rim, on the front, a large rectangular cartouche depicting various views of Berlin buildings in fine polychrome overglaze painting, including the Schauspielhaus, the French Cathedral, Museum Island, Charlottenburg Palace, Sanssouci and the Palace in Potsdam, flanked by subtle ornamental gold painting, gold accourages and a gold rim; the matching saucers feature corresponding decoration; the gilding is minimally worn in places, otherwise in good condition for its age; height of each cup: 8 cm.
