KPM Berlin lidded vase with floral decoration so-called ‘apothecary’s jar’, probably designed by the KPM workshop in 1775, underglaze blue sceptre and red imperial orb marks 1870-1924, embossed and brush marks as well as the painter’s mark for Wilhelm Wenzel, ovoid shape with a base ring, short cylindrical neck and a flat, domed lid with a pine cone knob, richly decorated with fine polychrome overglaze painting depicting a bouquet of flowers on both sides, flanked by flowering branches and a purple-coloured scale mosaic on the neck and at the base of the knob, gold decoration and gold rims, a tiny manufacturing-related ‘flea bite’ in the lid mosaic, otherwise in good condition for its age, H 35 cm.
