Krishna Reddy (Indian, 1925-2018) Untitled (Radiating Flowers) signed 'A. Krishna Reddy' l.r. and numbered 86/95, l.l., viscosity on paper (image 38 x 56cm; framed and glazed) Provenance: Bonhams, London, 'Modern & Contemporary Art', 9 December 2025, lot 71. Footnote: Krishna Reddy (1925–2018) was an Indian sculptor and printmaker, best known for his pioneering experiments in colour intaglio and viscosity printing. Born in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, he studied at Santiniketan before joining Stanley William Hayter’s Atelier 17 in Paris. From 1965, Reddy began using machine tools alongside traditional tools such as the burin and etching needle, allowing for new approaches to texture and form. Despite these technical developments, his imagery remained rooted in recurring themes from nature, including blossoming flowers, leaves, roots and seeds, such as the present lot illustrates.
