Rosenthal “In Erwartung” Designed by Adolf Oppel in 1917, signed, green stamp mark with the addition ‘Kunst-Abteilung Selb-Bavaria 1914-1920’, engraved model number K476 and painter’s signature ‘May’, naturalistic form with sparse overglaze painting and rich gold decoration; a Rococo lady seated on a stone bench atop an oblong plinth, with a voluminous updo and a fan, engaged in conversation with the Cupid boy seated before her on a columned plinth; the black outline of the column is partially worn away and the lady’s neck has been restored and glued in the past; height 17.5 cm.
