Volkstedt “Lula” Designed by Maurice Guiraud-Rivière (1881-1947), signed; produced by the Volkstedt Porcelain Manufactory, the oldest in Germany, with an underglaze blue mirror mark (1915-1934), embossed letter ‘1’ and brushstroke ‘K’, and inscribed on the front; naturalistic modelling with polychrome overglaze painting and gold decoration; a nude Art Nouveau beauty standing coquettishly on a moulded round plinth, ‘making a long face’ with her hand, with a cuddly cat at her feet on the reverse; a rare figure, in good condition for its age, H 36 cm.
