RARE AND UNUSUAL BORGNE HUNTING SHOTGUN, centerfire, external hammer, double-shot, 16-gauge extractor. 76.5 cm side-by-side barrels, Damascus steel, tobacco finish. Opens with a key under the fore-end and a scroll under the trigger guard. Engraved rear hammers signed “Casteres à Bayonne.” Stock made of tiger-striped walnut, partially checkered and varnished. Circa 1880/1890. Good condition for the mechanics and appearance (internal pitting in the barrels). N.B.: Surprisingly, this is a rifle made for a one-eyed shooter.
