BEAUTIFUL COURT SWORD. Diamond-shaped tang and hilt made of guilloché-engraved iron, decorated with faceted rivets. Single-branch guard, no donkey-head, and an openwork oval shell. Triangular blade engraved one-third of the way up. Leather scabbard with three cut-iron fittings, decorated with line engraving. With its rare chiseled iron lock adorned with foliage scrolls, featuring a strong hook, fitted with two steel chains with “figure-eight” rings secured by two snap hooks. B.E. Louis XV/Louis XVI period.
