False chin strap missing. Black leather sweatband with red piping. SOOLS Paris manufacturer’s logo. A fragment of a booklet from the Hôtel de la Poste in Marseille is visible beneath the sweatband. The fragment is folded at the back of the kepi. Note some wear and patina on the piece. Condition II+. Black cloth kepi with gold-colored rank braid, gilt bullion naval anchor and anchor buttons, leather visor, missing false chinstrap, black leather sweatband with red piping, SOOLS Paris maker’s logo, and a fragment of the Hotel de la Poste Marseille leaflet beneath the band.
