Lauriers du Sport Awards Ceremony A rare crystal trophy presented at the first Lauriers du Sport Awards Ceremony held in Laval in 1993. The Lauriers d’Or program was established that same year by the Laval Sports Commission to recognize the achievements and efforts of Laval athletes to surpass their personal bests during the provincial finals of the Jeux du Québec. The trophy, measuring 35 × 21 × 21 cm, features a silhouette reminiscent of a whale’s tail—a shape that references both the presence of cetaceans in Quebec’s waters and the world of aquatic sports. It is presented in its large original case (60 × 60 × 60 cm), lined with blue marbled paper featuring white and red veins. The lid is adorned in the center with the manufacturer’s mark and the inscription “Saint Louis France 1586” in pink letters.
