TENNIS: Jimmy CONNORS Wilson T2000 racquet likely used by the player in the 1970s. Match or tournament unknown. This racket features a Medium grip (L4 – 4 1/2"). Professional players’ rackets were frequently customized to achieve the desired diameter, weight, and balance. It is therefore likely that Jimmy Connors used handles tailored to his preferences throughout his career, though the original handle size cannot be systematically determined for each of his rackets. This racket was donated by the player and comes from the personal collection of Michel Mattei, director, screenwriter, and producer of the documentaries *The Rites of Passage: The John McEnroe Story* (1981) and *The Pat Cash Story: No Second Prize* (1987). A tennis enthusiast, he has built up an exceptional collection of more than 1,500 rackets over several decades, thanks to his close ties with many legends of the sport, notably John McEnroe and Pat Cash.
