Collection of Lichterberg miners from the Ore Mountains 1. Third quarter of the 20th century; the two smaller figures are labelled on old adhesive labels as ‘Annaberg Chief Miner, O. Gläser, Schneeberg, c. 1930’ and ‘Schneeberg Chief Miner, Müller, Seiffen c. 1920", carved wood, painted and gilded or silver-plated, each standing on a different plinth: a miner in ceremonial uniform with a detachable miner’s pick, holding a wooden candle holder or sheet metal; the larger miner stands on a masonry plinth with the miners’ greeting ‘Glück auf’, holding a rapeseed oil lamp; the paintwork is partially worn or an attribute is missing; otherwise in good condition for its age; height 46 cm and twice approx. 39 cm.
