Käthe Kruse doll for the ‘Doll Doctor’, Girl Type I, probably circa 1930-40, unmarked, with a fixed expression and heavily ‘made-up’ nettle head with a heart-shaped mouth, brown eyes with highlights and brown-painted hair beneath a blonde, braided real-hair wig, on a chubby nettle body with soft deer and reindeer hair filling, as well as two seams each on the back, front and both sides of the body; segmented legs with five seams, knees padded with filling material, fingers and toes stitched down; wearing a floral dress with an apron, headscarf and tights; a doll once dearly loved and amateurishly repaired, with flaking paint; height 45 cm.
