A Werder rifle M 1869 n.M. by OEWG, 1876 Caliber 11.15x60R M71, No. 3152A, serial number does not match. Polished barrel, length 88 cm. Frame sight graduated from 6 to 16. Side bayonet mount on the upper ring. On the muzzle base: “OESTERR.WAFFFB.GES.” Manufactured in 1876, entered service in 1877, acceptance mark “GF.” Stock cap bears the unit stamp “10.G.B.1.13.”; the stock cap nose bears the unit stamp “13.J R.” Barrel and fittings are bare metal, with slight scuffs on the receiver and barrel, and remnants of zapon coating. Walnut stock with minor signs of wear, both sling swivels, and a non-original ramrod. A relatively rare rifle from a total production run of only 20,000 pieces. Also included is a 60 cm long M 1871 engineer’s fascine knife, manufactured by “Erfurt,” bearing the military fiscal stamp “W 81” on the back beneath a crown and a Gothic approval mark. Blade length 475 mm, blade width 36 mm, blade spine serrated. Troop stamp “E.15. ?07.” Iron parts on the grip with slight scuffs. Rifle length 132 cm.
