A pair of flintlock cavalry pistols with a commemorative inscription, dated 1817 Octagonal barrels tapering to a round shape, with smooth bores, 17 mm caliber. Inscription engraved on the top: “Balthasar Obermayer à Murn - Esqattron à Wasserburg anno 1817.” Barrel bases and locks feature simple engraved scrollwork. Solid walnut stocks with slightly interlaced scrollwork. Polished brass fittings. Length: 35 cm each. Likely a memento of the Wars of Liberation belonging to a veteran of the Royal Bavarian 2nd Chevaulegers Regiment “Taxis.” Condition: II
