1457 - Large table linen set with geometric Art Nouveau decoration

Large table linen set with geometric Art Nouveau decoration in the style of Peter Behrens, circa 1915, comprising three tablecloths in two sizes and 24 small napkins, yellow jacquard fabric with a woven-in design featuring various square motifs as a wide, all-round border of small, multi-rowed squares in a repeating pattern and large appliqué button-like motifs, followed by a narrow matching frieze and a chequered pattern in the central panel; the accompanying napkins feature a slightly simpler design, all bearing a small embroidered owner’s monogram ‘M’, partly unused and with original finish; one tablecloth is stained, otherwise in good condition for its age; dimensions: one tablecloth measures 260 x 150 cm and two others each measure 200 x 150 cm; the napkins each measure 36 x 38 cm.
