Claus Bergen (1885–1964) – a gouache of a seascape, 1930 Watercolors and white highlights on painting board, signed “Claus Bergen” lower right, with Bergen’s handwritten dedication on the lower left to “Mr. Burmeister, as a fond memento of our sea voyage together in 1930.” A choppy sea with white-capped waves; the rosy evening glow of the cloudy sky is reflected in the waves.
