Heavy Artillery Fascine Knife M 1845 Sturdy wedge-shaped blade (repolished), with the smoothed-over manufacturer’s mark “PDL” at the base (Peter Daniel Lüneschloss, Solingen); on the third side, the “JR” mark beneath a crown (King John of Saxony, 1854–1873). Solid brass blade with a ribbed handle; the guard bears the unit stamp “12.A.F.1.53.”, and the pommel bears “JR” beneath a crown. In a black leather scabbard (heavily scuffed, re-blackened) with smooth brass fittings; on the mouthplate: “28. A. 5. 18.” Partially slightly damaged, signs of age. Length 67 cm. A substantial sidearm. Condition: II
