An M 1867 helmet for cavalrymen Collector's item. Leather body (worn, with pressure marks, reinforced with Zapon) with brass fittings. Nickel silver Saxon coat of arms emblem on a brass star with rays (secured by two leather wedges, no double holes), two clasp buckles on each side, crest edged with brass, topped by a black fur tuft added later (rear fastening missing), multi-part leather-lined scale chains attached to screwed-on geometric rosettes; on the left, the Saxon cockade made of lacquered sheet iron. Good black-brown leather lining on the flaps; on the neck guard, the old inscription “III SRR 4E 128” painted in white lacquer (now darkened). Partially slightly damaged; shows signs of wear and age. The K. S. Carabiniers Regiment was originally the 3rd Cavalry Regiment. Condition: II
