French cavalry pistol M 1822, converted to percussion in 1857 with a new barrel, rifled barrel with grooves and lands, rear sight and front sight, marked ‘M’re 1822’ on the tail, ‘M.1857’ above the powder chamber on the right, and stamped with proof marks and serial number 469157 on the left, calibre approx. 18 mm, hammer and lock plate made of iron, lock plate engraved with ‘M.re Imp. de Mutzig’, brass lock counterplate, trigger guard, barrel ring and butt plate, hardwood stock, iron ramrod, lock in working order, slight signs of wear, overall length 35 cm.
