Altenburg Infantry Regiment Reservists’ Jug inscribed ‘1st Company, 8th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 153, Altenburg 1897/99’, name given as San. Lance Corporal Ulrich; on the front, a shoulder patch above military trophies within a wreath of oak leaves; on the left the inscription, on the right “The red cross on a white background is ready to help at any hour”; without name strips, base lithophane depicting a farewell scene, tall pewter lid with rocaille decoration, featuring a drinking reservist as the finial, handle in the shape of an eagle, gilded edges worn, otherwise in good condition, height max. 27 cm.
