Reservist’s tankard, Metz Engineer Battalion inscribed ‘2nd Lorraine Engineer Battalion No. 20, 3rd Company, Metz 1909-1911’, inscribed with the name of reservist Büchler; on the front, scenes of bridge-building; at the bottom, a Zeppelin over Metz and a 1920s shoulder patch; at the bottom left and right, a military training ground and barracks; at the back, two name strips; lithophane on the base depicting a farewell scene; tall screw-top lid with reservist mottos and garlands of oak leaves; inside, a prism with engineer trophies; as a finishing figure, an engineer with an anchor and spade; the push-button is shaped as an anchor with a crossed pickaxe and spade; in good condition; height max. 32 cm.
