Reservist’s tankard, Metz Infantry Regiment marked ‘8th Infantry Regiment, Grand Duke Frederick II of Baden, 10th Company Metz 1910-1912”, inscribed with the name of reservist Heller; on the front, a view of the city of Metz; at the bottom, Emperor Wilhelm II, Frederick II of Baden and Luitpold of Bavaria above military trophies; on the left and right, scenes of military manoeuvres; a view of the barracks and a German gate; at the back, two name strips; lithophane on the base depicting a farewell scene; tall pewter lid with reservist mottos and garlands of oak leaves; screw-on top missing; as a finishing touch, a standing soldier with his rifle at his feet, the trigger shaped as a Bavarian lion with a coat of arms; colours slightly faded at the lower edge, otherwise in good condition; height max. 31 cm.
