A helmet for reserve officers in the Brunswick Infantry Regiment No. 92 Black-lacquered leather cup with a round front visor, gold fittings, and brown sweatband with silk ribbing (some missing sections). The crown features star screws, a beaded frieze, and a removable tip. The regimental eagle (the broken scepter included separately; the threaded pins on the reverse side have been re-soldered to match the helmet shell; without the princely bandeau and the applied silver skull with velvet-lined eyes above the reserve cross). Smooth scale chains on the rosettes and officer’s cockades; the state cockade has been repainted. Typical helmet of a reserve officer, as only the 3rd Battalion wore the skull and crossbones until 1912, and only thereafter did the entire regiment adopt it. Condition: II -
