An M 1873 helmet for Gendarmerie officers Sturdy, black-lacquered leather cup (some wear), non-ferrous metal fittings (traces of gilding). Embossed Bavarian lion emblem beneath a crown. Cross-bar (gilding refreshed) with four round heads, rigid smooth tip. Convex, leather-lined scale chains on sculpted lion heads; on the left, the finely embossed Bavarian officer’s cockade with a crown. Black leather lining with tabs (some missing sections); inside the body, a paper label from the “Militär-Effecten Fabrik von A. Bergmaier München.” Partially slightly damaged; shows signs of wear and age. Extremely rare. Condition: II
