A pair of French underhammer percussion pistols in a case, circa 1850 Octagonal barrels with screw threads that transition smoothly into a rounded baluster shape (fixed). Seven-grooved barrels in 11 mm caliber. Frames engraved on the top and sides, each with a belt buckle on the left side; behind the rear sights, an indistinct manufacturer’s mark. Hammers on the underside with a simple cocking detent. Finely carved walnut grips. Iron butt plates with screw-in ramrods. Wooden, lockable (key included) pistol case with a vacant brass plate on the top and in front of the lock. Edges reinforced with brass strips. Interior lined with blue velvet, containing six bullets, a brass powder flask, and a small, later-added screwdriver. Dimensions: 22.5 x 16.3 x 6.5 cm. Condition: II
