An Italian miquelet-lock shotgun, Vinzenzo Sarli, circa 1760 Slightly tapered, octagonal barrel with a smooth bore, 15 mm caliber. Indistinct markings above the chamber. Finely engraved Miquelet lock, signed “Vinzenzo Sarli,” with a cut hammer and pan. Typical cut-away full stock with openwork, engraved brass fittings and an iron butt plate; a monogram inlaid in silver on the underside of the stock. Stock carvings partially worn; crack along the closed ramrod compartment with a chip on the front. Iron ramrod with brass ferrule. Length 143 cm. Condition: II
