A German Victorian half-armor set in the style of 1600, including an authentic burgonet, circa 1900 Original Nuremberg burgonet from around 1600. Two-piece calotte with a narrow, flanged crest. A one-piece, tapered visor with a beaded and laced edge. An iron plume socket riveted at the nape, with iron lining rivets all around. Hinged cheek guards with rosette-shaped ear holes. Riveted neck guard with a flanged and laced edge, bearing a stamped Nuremberg inspection mark and a later collection number. Collar that opens via a hinge, with a flanged neckline. Attached full set of arm armor with large shoulder guards and closed forearm guards and arm tubes. Beaded breastplate with flanges turned inward. Imperial orb mark and cross mark stamped on the breastplate and collar. An attached waistband with eight-folded tassets. Back plate with engraved decorative lines and beaded edges. Height approx. 97 cm. With the exception of the original helmet, this is a very fine example of historicist plate armor, virtually indistinguishable from the original. Condition: II
