An Italian burgonet, ca. 1590 Heavy, one-piece hammered cup with visible hammer marks. Strong ridge with a small, backward-sloping tip. Circumferential lining rivets with decorative brass rosettes. Tapered eye and neck guard with flanged and laced edges. Cheek flaps attached by hinges, each with five ear holes; the leather loops for the chin strap have been replaced. Height 28 cm.
