A Tuareg sword (takouba), North Africa, ca. 1900 A sturdy iron blade, rounded at the tip, with a slightly engraved tang on both sides. The guard features geometric relief on the visible side, with a leather-wrapped grip and an oval iron pommel. The scabbard, featuring elaborate geometric inlays on the front and covered in leather, has iron reinforcement at the hilt. It has two wide straps and iron carrying rings. Length: 96.5 cm.
