Early La Tène period bronze brooch, 4th century B.C. Typical early La Tène brooch with a backward-curved foot. The bar is thickened in the center and tapers distinctly toward the spiral and the foot. The spiral has six turns and a lower, outer strand. The pin catch is forged from the underside of the approximately triangular, backward-curved foot and notched on the outer side of the projecting edge. The foot is forged into a small disc at its upward-curved end; in front of it is a clamp that secures the foot to the back of the bow. A 3 cm wide convex decorative disc with a central bulge and a bead running around it is attached to the small disc with a rivet. Four wire spirals are soldered to the central bulge, and nine to the bead, with a granulation pattern in the center. Beautiful, dark green patina, partially with minimal incrustations. Length 8.7 cm. A rare and exquisite specimen. CULTURAL HERITAGE!
