An iron sword from the Hallstatt C period, approx. mid-8th to late 7th century B.C.. Iron hilt tongue sword from the early Iron Age with a distinctly narrow blade with a central ridge. The slightly indented upper section merges into a slightly bulging middle section. The elegantly curved cutting edges converge into an elongated point. The blade has a central ridge in the shape of a narrow bead, the lateral edges of which stand out clearly from the blade. A bulging grip plate with low ridges, the lower part of which surrounds the blade, which protrudes at the top, with two wings on either side, with a bell-shaped recess in between. There is an iron rivet in each of the wings on the left and right. Length 81 cm. Minor chipping along the edges, the top part of the grip plate is missing. Otherwise a very beautifully shaped sword of the early Iron Age in a rare variant that was primarily suitable for thrusting. CULTURAL GOOD! Condition: III +
