Late Bronze Age double spiral with a dark green patina, 9th century B.C. Double spiral consisting of two bronze wires formed into spiral discs with 15 coils; the wire is approximately 3 mm thick on the outside and tapers to approximately 1 mm in thickness toward the center. The two spiral discs are connected in the center by a spiral tube consisting of ten coils, where the bronze wire is approximately 2 mm thick. Very beautiful, dark green, lustrous patina. A particularly aesthetic piece of seemingly simple Bronze Age craftsmanship that, however, skillfully employs varying wire thicknesses—which were not easy to produce—and captivates with its very balanced proportions. Length 16.2 cm. CULTURAL HERITAGE! Provenance: Private collection in northern Germany, acquired in the 1980s on the German art market. Condition: I–II
