Hypokraterion, a mixing vessel, Early Etruscan, 7th century B.C. A three-part ceramic stand made of light brown clay. The lower section is a slightly bulbous truncated cone with a rim flaring diagonally downward. Above this are two sections, each topped by an angular ridge and featuring five triangular windows. The upper section is lower than the lower one. In the center is a hollow, spherical section with five raised protrusions and five small, round holes between them. Above this is another angular ridge. The top is capped by a funnel-shaped bowl with a hole in the center, corresponding to a hole in the lower base of the middle, spherical section.
