Mary with an Oak Wreath 18th century, old lacquer seal on the reverse, carved from hardwood, crafted in several parts and assembled, polychromed and gilded or silver-bronzed, Depiction of Mary as Queen of Heaven with the infant Christ and the imperial orb, flanked by sculpted oak foliage; at her feet, a coat-of-arms cartouche bearing the inscription ‘S. Maria’; beneath, a resting hunter with his dog; signs of age, loss of material, height 37 cm. Provenance: Otto Blokesch Collection, Bamberg, Part 1.
