[SADE (Donatien-Alphonse-François, Count of, known as the Marquis de)]. A series of engravings for *La Nouvelle Justine, or The Misfortunes of Virtue*, followed by *The Story of Juliette, Her Sister* [Paris, ca. 1835], based on the illustrations from the original edition (Holland, 1797). A set of 74 (out of 101) very freely rendered engravings on steel, printed on vellum, cut to size (dimensions of the engravings within the frame: 100 x 60 mm) and mounted on heavy paper with tabs, in 37 plates bound together in an 8vo volume in light calfskin, with a ribbed spine decorated (in the 18th-century style), a blank title label, and a clasp (binding c. 1900). They bear the volume number (I through X) in the upper left corner and the page number in the upper right corner. The last 10 plates are loose. A few stains, foxing spots, or water stains.
