HUGO (Victor). L.A.S. "Victor H.", "H.H." [Hauteville House, Guernsey], March 18 [no year], 2 pp. in-12 on blue paper, to Léon or Gaston Bérardi, editors of the Brussels daily L'Indépendance belge: “My excellent and honorable friend, my submissions are merely greetings. Happy when you publish them, and content when you do not, I always prioritize the best interests of your most useful newspaper. In short, ‘L’Indépendance’ enlightens us, and when I happen to close the shutter of my skylight—that is to say, when I do not publish my bold ideas—I approve, and I seal my approval with a handshake. Feel free to use whatever I send you. Allow me only to extend my regards to Madame Berardi."
