COLETTE (Sidonie-Gabrielle), 1873–1954. Autograph letter signed “Colette,” undated, 1 page and 2 lines, in-4 format, on blue letterhead from 9 Rue de Beaujolais, to her dear colleague. She had not been aware of the “charming article, at once so serious and so effortlessly written” that he had written about her before he sent it to her. She assures him that *Journal à rebours* was sent to her by the press office. Enclosed is another autograph letter, “Colette,” undated, 2 pp., in-8 oblong, to a friend: “This family basking in the sun is as beautiful as a basket of fruit! You’re quite right to send me your… espalier from time to time; you know that everything that grows and blossoms moves me [...] Why don’t you come see my garden at the Palais-Royal sometime? I am still your old friend [...]” And in a postscript: “My blue paper isn’t so pretty anymore. I’m saving what’s left of my periwinkle blue for my work”;
