CAMUS (Albert), 1913–1960. B.A., n.d., 1 p., oblong in-12 on NRF letterhead. “5) Sorry for this ramble[?], but I only work two hours a day—and on my books, naturally. Why not ask Roger Caillois for this preface? Or Victoria Ocampo? [...]” Handwritten note in pencil by another hand: “between [?] Caillois and V. Ocampo, see Ple[iade?]” The names Caillois and Victoria Ocampo refer to the circle associated with the Argentine journal *Sur*, which played an important role in disseminating Camus’s work in Latin America. Caillois had notably served as an intermediary between Camus and Ocampo before their meeting in New York in 1946; Camus subsequently maintained a close friendship and regular correspondence with the founder of *Sur*.
