BLOY (Léon), 1846–1917. Letter from the author, “Léon Bloy,” Paris, July 3, 1889, 2 pp., in-8, to the editor of the newspaper “L’Art Moderne,” likely Edmon Picard. He did indeed receive the 500 francs sent by his correspondent “[...] I have suffered cruelly, terribly, from this prolonged delay [...] It may very well be that my suffering has made me very unfair and caused me to utter a few excessive outbursts. Your experience with people will forgive this from a tormented Southerner [...]” He thanks him profusely while awaiting the opportunity to send the promised studies to *L’Art Moderne*. ""[...] I am by no means lacking in heart, and [...] I am capable of writing better and at greater length as soon as my troubled mind has returned to its normal state."" Enclosed is an autographed envelope from Léon Bloy addressed to Edmond Picard, attorney, Brussels (postmark dated November 20 [1900]).
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
