Enfantina. The Theater Book. Little Red Riding Hood. [Paris], Librairie Guérin-Müller & Cie [Printed by Dean & Sons in London], n.d. [c. 1880]. In-8, polychrome illustrated cardboard binding, black cloth spine. Binding worn. Foxing and pencil markings. Charming book with a special layout consisting of 8 leaves of text, each beginning with engraved, colored illustrations that have been cut out and applied to the page to create a multi-layered scene when a silk ribbon is pulled (the ribbons connecting the different parts are broken; part of one illustration is torn and detached but still present). A rare example of a late 19th-century “pop-up” book.
