Anonymous. Justin, or The Scatterbrain. With cut-out and colored illustrations. Paris: Nepveu, 1819. Square 12mo, publisher’s illustrated pink cardboard binding, in a slipcase. Spine missing, scuffed. Frontispiece featuring a bust of Justin and 5 (of 6) engraved, colored, and cut-out hats, inserted into slits. 109 pp. of text, explaining the details of the 8 plates (sketches) to be assembled. At the end of the book, under two flaps on the inside back cover, a set of 8 engraved, colored, and cut-out silhouettes. Stains. A lovely, playful album, very rare, especially since it is nearly complete with all movable elements, as seen here.
