Brown half-calf, decorated ribbed spine, title label (first half of the 19th-century binding imitating the 18th century). 18th-century manuscript copy of the “Memoir on the Generality of Gallican Flanders, the City and Castellany of Lille, Orchies, Douai, and the Alleu region" by Louis DUGUÉ DE BAGNOLS of Dreux (1645–1709). Dugué de Bagnols served as intendant of Flanders from 1684 to 1708. His memoir is part of the major administrative inquiry conducted at the end of Louis XIV’s reign, as part of the Intendants’ Memoirs intended for the Duke of Burgundy’s consideration. Seal bearing the initials “AM” in red ink on the title page.
